The year 2024 promises to be rich in new sounds. Here are 13 Quebec albums you should have on your radar!
The sum of loved ones – Alexandre Poulin
Oumayma B. Tanfous
As a result of a reflection on what makes us truly happy and on the death of his father, The Sum of Beloved Ones addresses the importance of the people we love in our lives. Alexandre Poulin, former teacher, offers his sixth career attempt here. The second excerpt sung by Mauvais, which tells of difficult phases in life, promises a sensitive album.

Fire in the lilacs – Beyries
MARIO BEAUREGARD/AGENCE QMI
The first album in French by Beyries, who we know from Landing (2017) and Encounter (2020), will be released in 2024. With Du feu dans les lilas, written by Maxime Le Flaguais and produced by Joseph Marchand, Beyries promises a delicate and elegant album that encourages you to slow down.

Mea Silva – Emilie Laforest
Lawrence Fafard
What is Mea Silva? “A lyrical, prog-medieval, poetic UFO album in French,” we can read on Émilie Laforest’s Facebook page. However, one only has to listen to the excerpt “Tous les jours se mort” for the first time to understand the uniqueness of the universe proposed by one half of the late duo Forêt. This first solo album was co-produced by Mathieu Charbonneau (Dans pas d'casque, Organ Mood).
Coming out in February 2024. For more details click here.
Kindergarten heart –Shaina Hayes
Lawrence Fafard
After “Coax a Waltz” (2022), Shaina Hayes is ready to present her second album “Kindergarten Heart”. Bonsound's new folk recruit, who also has a passion for the world of agriculture, has centered his new compositions around conscious memory and the desire to rediscover wonder. The lovely piece New Favorite sets the tone of this universe, built together with Francis Ledoux and David Marchand of the group Zouz.

Written by Steve Marin and composed by Gautier Marinof and Jérôme Couture, the song Un nouveau jour, which is actually the first excerpt from the album, is one of the few pieces that did not benefit from the pen or talented composition of Krystel Mongeau. This first work from the big winner of the Star Académie 2022, which will flirt with country-pop sounds, will be entirely in French.
Coming out in winter 2024. For more details click here.

You never really know where you're going to find Laurence Nerbonne, and this is perfect! The one who dabbled in pop, hip-hop, R&B and even country with the track “Cowgirl with Mitsou” will go what direction with her fourth album? As the mystery looms, we can listen to the sparkling song Rainbow to find some clues.

Disturbed gardens – Andreanne A. Malette
Catherine Deslauriers
Light illuminates the musical universe of Andréanne A. Malette, which unfolds in her fourth album “Les jardins dédésés” around the themes of well-being and nature. If the first excerpt, Le reste du temps, is indeed a cover by Francis Cabrel, on this new work it will give way to the original songs.
