Quebec has its sights set on a strong system.
Two pulses are on the radar. The first will bring freezing rain for southern Quebec. The snow takes over the second act of the system.
Southern Quebec, most spoiled
The broadside that was planned in the sectors a little further north should invite itself more in southern Quebec. Surprise! A broad band from the Outaouais to the St. Lawrence River, including the Laurentians and Greater Montreal, will be the most likely to get a lot of snow. Up to 25 cm are possible, especially at high altitudes.
Montreal is one of the lucky ones: 15 to 20 cm of snow are currently on the city’s radar.
sleet with it?
However, one element needs to be closely monitored: mixed precipitation. Sleet is possible in southern Quebec which could have a significant impact on snow accumulation.
Even freezing rain is not excluded. Wednesday morning and Thursday morning are the times to look out for this type of precipitation.
However, it should be borne in mind that this type of precipitation is difficult to predict accurately due to the particular context required for its formation. The situation could change in the next few days.
