Gmail for Android widely deploys an option that all users would consider essential to online messaging.
Gmail for Android finally adds the ability to select all emails on the same page to perform a grouped action on them. As surprising as it may seem, this option did not exist.
A feature we've been waiting for since day one
From translating emails on Android and iOS to changing its icon, Google does not fail to regularly improve its application, which now has more than 1.8 billion users around the world. But the tech giant sometimes misses obvious features, like the bulk email selection tool on Android. An omission that is now history, 15 years after the launch of the Gmail application for Android.
The functionality, which has been spotted on the Internet since September 2023, was not effective until then. It was not related to the application version, but was based on a server-side change, probably at the Gmail account level. Several users reported on Reddit that they had received the update, which is evidence that deployment is widespread.

To activate it, simply long press an email or the round icon on the left. The “Select all” button will then appear at the top of the screen with a checkbox in front of it. A feature that has been available in the desktop version for years, but was previously missing from the Android version.

If you press the button without scrolling through your emails, the application will only select 50. If you want to select more than one at a time, you must first use Infinite Scroll and then All.
