The NYPD has arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing attack on Brooklyn community activist Ryan Thoresen Carson.

Brian Dowling, 18, was arrested Thursday morning at an apartment in Bedford Stuyvesant.

Police were looking for the black Champion sweatshirt he was wearing when they showed up at the apartment and found him.

It’s not far from where he was filmed stabbing Carson, 32, while he was waiting for a bus with his girlfriend at 3:50 a.m. Monday.

Dowling has previously been described as “emotionally and mentally disturbed”.

He’s supposed to work at a school in Clinton Hill and is so confused that his own aunt reported him to the police two months ago after he broke his girlfriend’s clothes in a fight.

Carson spearheaded liberal causes such as establishing supervised drug consumption sites throughout the city.

According to now-blocked social media profiles, his girlfriend was an avid BLM activist who used the cop-hating acronym ACAB in some posts, among other things.

Her friends say he views his killer as a “victim of a broken system” and wants his death to be used to continue to advocate for social justice.
