WEST PERRINE, Fla. – An 11-year-old boy was watching TV when a 61-year-old woman crashed a black Kia Optima into his home in south Miami-Dade County on Friday. He and the woman were injured.
Firefighters responded to the one-story home at 11545 SW 168th Terr. in the West Perrine neighborhood. Manny Llanos, the homeowner’s nephew, said his neighbor across the street drove into his house; a truck, a fence and then the house.
“As he was backing into his house, he tried to jump back into the car to put it in Park, but he accidentally put it in Drive. Then he just accelerated and hit my uncle’s car, hit the fence and then went through the house,” Llanos said.

The boy, who is on the autism spectrum, sat on the couch crying. The boy’s father was in the backyard to put away tools after mowing the lawn. He ran inside when he heard the crash. The family dog named “Luna” was so scared that she ran away and came back later.

“He sees that the car is in his house and his son is sitting there with a bloody nose. So everyone at the time was pretty scared of what was going on,” Llanos said. “It was a very big shock that this car drove so far. Hit a truck, hit the fence and hit the house. I can imagine if the car wasn’t on the road.”
Authorities declared both houses unsafe. Emmanuel Llanos organized one GoFundMe fundraiser and asked the public for help for the family.
