AUGUSTA, Ga. — A star-studded leaderboard and patron-filled course have already got the Masters 2022 in high gear when Round 2 action kicks off on Friday. Sung-jae Im leads this board at 5 under after a superb first 18 holes, but his lead is tiny with Cameron Smith, former champions Danny Willett and Dustin Johnson, Joaquín Niemann and Scottie Scheffler hot on his heels for day two of action begins.
Still, it’s Tiger Woods pulling most of the air out of the atmosphere at Augusta National. In his first event in 17 months – and just 14 months away from nearly losing his leg – Woods shot the most remarkable 71 in Masters history to sit T11 and just four shots behind Im. Not only will Tiger likely make the cut on Friday, he could also be in contention to win his sixth green jacket over the weekend. All of this makes for a must-see second round that should be exciting from sunrise to sunset on Friday.
