2022 NFL Draft ESPNs Mel Keeper Jrs latest first round taunt

2022 NFL Draft: ESPN’s Mel Keeper Jr.’s latest first-round taunt made Bills pick ‘explosive playmaker’

The Buffalo Bills are in a position to take the best player available in the 2022 NFL Draft.

One look at the roster and it seems like the Bills’ biggest need is at cornerback, but Brandon Bean and company won’t be drawn to a player unless he’s the best player available. Simply put, the best player on the Buffalo board—regardless of position—will be picked by team number 25.

This philosophy has worked well for Buffalo in the past, so it’s unlikely they’ll go off that path in 2022.

ESPN NFL draft guru Mel Kiper Jr released his latest draft draft on Tuesday and followed Bean’s philosophy for Buffalo.

Despite the fact that Keeper Jr. has no shortage of weapons, Billy picks Penn State wide receiver Jahan Dotson with the 25th pick. Here’s what the drafting expert had to say about the pick.

Buffalo released Cole Beasley and offered Jamison Crowder as a slot option, but Crowder is unlikely to be part of the Bills’ long-term plans. Dotson would. Where can he help the most? The Bills ranked last in the league in average yards per catch (4.3) last season. Dotson is an explosive playmaker who can score a goal with every touch. In 2021, he had 1,182 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The Bills have had a great off-season so far, so this is a luxury choice. However, Dotson could help as a rookie.

While Kiper Jr. called it a “luxury choice,” one could argue that it makes sense. Crowder has been fantastic in his career with the Washingtons and the Jets despite never playing with a top-level quarterback, but injuries to his lower body have left the wide receiver missing several games in three of the last four seasons.
