It’s a historic victory. With 73,000 votes, ie 60.87% cast votes, Marine LePenNational Rally candidate is celebrated in Martinique.
Had Emmanuel seduced Macron in 2017, five years later the La République en Marche candidate received 46,918 votes, or 39.13% Voices.
A vote that could be qualified as a sanction with regard to the policies of the outgoing President, especially in dealing with the health crisis.
According to political scientist Justin Daniel, this result does not necessarily reflect an adherence to the ideology of the far right.
There is less a vote in support of Marine Le Pen and all that she embodies than a vote against Emmanuel Macron and what he represents on his side. It is also striking how quickly Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s vote for the radical left was converted into a vote for the extreme right. Which confirms that this is not a member vote. In the first round, with the vote for Mélanchon, we noted the expression of anger, where there was also a form of protest, and Marine Le Pen takes advantage of that. This vote is a signal to all those responsible at all levels, because it means that there are problems and unease that need to be addressed.

The results also show strong opposition to the election proposed in this second round, with a large number of blank and invalid ballots.
Many voters, citizens, did not want to vote under the conditions of the election offer in which they did not find themselves. They sent the two finalists back to back.
However, remember that blank and invalid ballot papers are not counted when casting a vote.
