2023 Big East Tournament Bracket Schedule: Live Updates College Basketball Scores NCAA Bracketology – CBS Sports

The Big East Tournament begins Wednesday at Madison Square Garden in New York with six teams in action, all of whom need to run this week for any hope of making the NCAA tournament. The top five teams in the conference are all projected as teams at large in Jerry Palm’s bracketology, and each of them has a bye to Thursday’s quarterfinals.

Headlining Wednesday’s action are No.6-seeded Villanova and No.7-seeded Seton Hall, both of whom have shown promising prospects this season among first-year coaches but will likely need four wins in four days to get the big dance done to reach.

But the first game of the day between 8th-seeded St John’s and 9th-seeded Butler will also be of interest after the sides split their regular-season streak that included a dramatic 68-66 Butler win, which was a potential game-changing bucket from the Red Storm was waved off after it was decided it came after last buzzer.

After that, the No. 7 Seed Pirates will play against the No. 10 Seed DePaul and the No. 6 Seed Wildcats will play against the No. 11 Seed Georgetown to conclude the first round action. It could potentially be Patrick Ewing’s last game as the Hoyas manager if Georgetown loses and the program decides it’s time for a managerial change.

Mix it all together and you have one of the best conference tournaments in the country heading into selection Sunday.
