23 December the most beautiful day and the most beautiful

“23. December”: the most beautiful day and the most beautiful song – Le Journal de Montréal

It is probably not without reason that Beau Dommage, one of the groups that has best captured the soul of Quebec in the history of our song since the Quiet Revolution, named their famous Christmas song 23rd of December.

Because the holiday season begins on December 23rd.

A shame

It is not yet the beginning of the banquets, but it is the day that heralds the joys that will leave us more breathless than restful.

To put it simply, it is the day before Christmas Eve.

The 23rd still belongs to the time of work and friendship, the 24th announces that of the family, which today is increasingly struggling to find itself in a world in which it is fighting to regain its rights, in which it is more common is torn apart than we would like.

It's a season we can't do without.

For several weeks now we have been hearing Christmas music on the radio and in stores that reminds us of the Christian origins of our civilization, that reminds us that this holiday is not just a holiday of rampant consumerism.

I am convinced that very few of them can truly resist the charms of a midnight, majestic Christian.

On the 24th we will have the pleasure of celebrating in the spirit of tradition. Holiday foods aren't always the best, but they're always comforting. They remind us of childhood. They bring memories into consciousness.

Christmas

For me, December 23rd is also the opportunity to celebrate “23rd. December” by Beaudam can be heard on repeat. There I find the simplicity of the Quebecers, I find their grimaces and their smiles. There I find her joy of life and at the same time her little melancholy.

Happy December 23rd, dear friends. And above all, Merry Christmas.
