Southern Quebec will experience an exceptionally hot day on Thursday, when mercury will rise to 25 degrees for the first time this year, expecting the humidex to return soon.
Under the pressure of the heat Thursday day will therefore take on a summery aspect with fine sunny weather and unusually high mercury levels in these southern sectors of the province for this time of year.
In Greater Montreal and the Outaouais, the sun will be accompanied by summer temperatures reaching 25 degrees with a humidex of 28 in the afternoon, but winds gusting to 40 km/h could arrive by midday, Environment Canada said.
The same topo applies in Estrie, while elsewhere in central Quebec even in sunny weather the mercury won’t splurge as maximum temperatures in Beauce, Mauricie and Saguenay won’t exceed 19 degrees.
On the other hand, the east of the province will deal with a temperature still falling with temperatures of 10 degrees or less in certain sectors of the Bas-Saint-Laurent and the Côte-Nord where the day could be marred by a few showers in the morning.
