A twoyearold child was found dead next to his father's body, days after the man suffered cardiac arrest, the Chron reports.
Bronson Battersby was found curled up in his pajamas next to the body of his 60yearold father Kenneth. It is believed that Kenneth suffered a heart attack and died before his son.
The discovery was made after a social worker visited the family's home in Lincolnshire, UK, on January 2nd. When no one opened the door, the woman decided to call the police.
Two days later, the specialist returned to the site and when no one came forward, she informed the authorities again.
The bodies of Kenneth and Bronson, who was considered an atrisk child and received weekly visits, were found on January 9 when the social worker decided to ask the homeowner for a house key and open the door.
The child's mother, Sarah Piesse, 43, last saw her son before Christmas when she had an argument with her expartner.
According to her, the autopsy results indicate that the boy died of starvation after his father died on December 29.
Police are investigating the case and there is no word yet on possible charges.
The case shocked the UK and raised concerns about the protection of vulnerable children.
The social worker who made the discovery is supported by professionals.
