In particularly rough seas due to high winds and littered with Sargassum algae, the 14 boats set out for Vauclin Bay. The scheduled 11am departure is given as 11:23am, which is a bit confusing for some couriers.

The crews are therefore confronted with heavy seas.

A skiff from the Robert separates. It was skipper Ted Rascar’s Mac Donald’s who took the lead at the first buoy at the Pointe du Vauclin and then at the second, facing the crowd on the beach at the village of Vauclin.

Behind them, the favorites Ufr / Chanflor, Sara / Ad, CTDM / EDF or Appaloosa / Vito / Ho-Hio-Hen stand out. In the crossover game, the Ufr/Chanflor boat took the lead when it passed the 3rd buoy at Caye Paradis.

The wind calms down and the best take off towards the 4th buoy. Ufr/Chanflor still leads that buoy and wins the prologue to the delight of his many followers.
