The leader of the Quebec Conservative Party is less than impressed with the Legault government’s flip-flop on the third party deal. According to Éric Duhaime, the CAQ had the studies in hand during the last election campaign.

“I submitted a request for access to information,” Mr. Duhaime said.
At the microphone of Richard Martineau on QUB Radio, he believes that given the new version of the project, Quebecers must ask themselves about the relevance of a new structure between Quebec and Lévis, but the question must be discussed by the electorate, who are directly addressed: the people of the Capitale-Nationale region.

“[Les élus de la CAQ] I’d rather listen to the Montreal chroniclers than to the Quebec voters,” affirmed the PCQ chairman.
Also, in the same breath, he wondered about the relevance of holding this debate in Montreal’s public square.
Mr Duhaime also slammed Mayor Valérie Plante, who had spoken out on the new project before elected officials from Quebec and Lévis had done so.
