4,342 new corona virus infections were reported in Austria on Thursday. According to the forecast, the numbers and hospital patients should continue to fall.
4,342 new infections with the corona virus were recorded on the national holiday in Austria, according to the AGES daily update.
Decrease in infections and corona hospital patients
There were 2,096 infected people in hospitals on Thursday morning, 23 fewer than the day before. 99 people affected were treated in intensive care units, seven fewer than on Wednesday and 33 fewer than in the previous week.
According to the Corona forecasting consortium, there will be a further decrease in the hospital floor in the next two weeks. As far as new infections are concerned, reported positive tests continue to decline in the vast majority of federal states and age groups.
Three more deaths from Covid
Up to and including the national holiday, there have been 5,421,306 confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 in Austria since the start of the pandemic. 5,324,383 people had one or more infections and 6,310 were found free of the virus in the last 24 hours. However, three more deaths have been added to a total of 20,946 Covid victims in Austria since the day before.
