Intelligence chief Budanov: Wagner group will no longer fight in Ukraine

According to the Ukrainian secret service, the main consequences of the Wagner mutiny for Ukraine include the compromise of the Russian leadership and the fact that Yevgeny Prigozhin’s mercenaries will no longer fight against Ukraine.

The head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s main reconnaissance department, Kyrylo Budanov, told the Ukrajinska Pravda newspaper: “We have received a commitment from the Russian leadership. Once again, the myth of the steadfastness of the Russian regime was shattered. Casualties were inflicted on Russian military and space forces. In addition, the Wagner group will no longer participate in battles on the territory of Ukraine. And this was the most effective unit of the Russian Federation, which wanted to achieve success at any cost.”

EU countries do not rule out sending military missions to Ukraine

European Union countries are allowing EU military missions to be sent to Ukraine as part of future security guarantees, reports the Financial Times, citing an anonymous caller. According to him, this will be possible if there are adequate conditions and the consent of all members of the Union. The EU will also commit to expanding the Ukrainian military training initiative. In addition, the heads of state and government pledged to continue funding arms deliveries to Kiev through the European Peace Fund.

Earlier, the Financial Times reported that the EU plans to offer Ukraine security deals to secure long-term commitments amid growing instability in Russia. The initiative was led by France and Germany, in addition to Great Britain and the United States.
