49ers News: An MRI confirms that Emmanuel Moseley has torn his cruciate ligament

Kyle’s Update, 9:25 a.m. PT: ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that an MRI confirmed Moseley tore his cruciate ligament. What a pity. Playing the best ball of his career, Moseley was in line for a juicy payday this offseason.

Speaking to the media after Sunday’s win, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan didn’t have good news on the injury front: It was tough at the end. It felt strange watching E-man. It definitely took away some of the excitement.”

Shanahan fears Moseley has torn his cruciate ligament. Moseley will have an MRI to confirm, but from what everyone sounds like, they’re not optimistic. Moseley left the dressing room with a knee splint and walking on crutches. Both Charvarius Ward and Talanoa Hufanga said the injury severely hampered the win.

Depending on how he trains this week, Jason Verrett could play next week, although there’s no guarantee he’ll be ready.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t the only injury. Jimmie Ward broke his hand. There’s no guarantee he’ll miss time as Ward could be playing with a racquet in hand. Still, one could imagine that playing with a Club Ward would be limited to a certain capacity.

Nick Bosa’s groin got tight in the second quarter, so the 49ers decided to knock him out. The team will conduct further tests on Monday.

Kicker Robbie Gould probably just has a bruised bone. Again, more testing will be done this evening and tomorrow morning, and we’ll have an update on each tomorrow afternoon.
