The ability to limit the working day to just four days a week will be tested in Brazil starting in November. After being tested in the United Kingdom, United States, Spain, Australia and other countries, the model is being put into practice in Brazil through a partnership between consulting firm Reconnect Happiness and organization 4 Day Week Global. STF begins reviewing the decision naming a deputy for Deltan Dallagnol in the Chamber
The Supreme Court (STF) will rule on the (preliminary) injunction designating the deputy to take office in place of the indicted Federal Congressman Deltan Dallagnol (PodemosPR) this Friday (8) in a virtual plenary session. In the TRE accounts, the replacement should be Itamar Paim (PL). The court assumed that the vacancy should go to the PL as no other Podemos candidate achieved 10% of the electoral quota. Podemos appealed to the Supreme Court to keep the vacancy with the party. Toffoli complied with the request this Wednesday. This means that the position can be temporarily filled by Luiz Carlos Hauly. In the virtual plenum, the STF ministers cast their votes electronically. The Arroio do Meio Women’s Cancer Fight League will be featured on Talks With You in June.
The next edition of Talks With You will be held on June 14th at the Parkland in Arroio do Meio and will benefit the city’s Women’s League Against Cancer with funds raised. The organization supports cancer patients in the community with medicines, nutritional supplements, prostheses, wigs, examinations and more and currently supports about 30 to 40 people monthly. The organization offers its services on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at its headquarters at Rua Visconde do Rio Branco, 712, in the center of Arroio do Meio. JG

Inflation forecast is falling and rate cut expectations are rising
Inter lowered its inflation forecast for 2023 and claimed that following the release of the Extended Index of Consumer Prices (IPCA) for May in the next few meetings, the Central Bank (BC) has more leeway to start preparing for a rate cut. This morning we see weaker inflation and a rapid deceleration. The IPCA changed 0.23% in May and is up 3.94% over 12 months after rising 12% last year. The data were released on Wednesday (7) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE). With the data, Inter cut its yearend IPCA forecast to 5.1% from 5.6%, in line with a series of revisions made by economists and financial market analysts this Wednesday after the data was released. The parishes of Lajeado make carpets for the celebration of Corpus Christi
Celebrate the body and blood of Jesus Christ and honor his death and resurrection. This is the purpose of the Feast of Corpus Christi, which means “Body of Christ” in Latin. Several celebrations have been prepared for this Thursday (08) in Lajeado, with masses, processions and the making of traditional carpets. At the São Cristóvão headquarters in the São Cristóvão district, the carpet was made in the forecourt of the church where the procession took place, and at 8 a.m. the mass was held. In the Paróquia Nossa Senhora da Imaculada Conceição, in the Moinhos district, the assembly of the traditional carpet took place and at 9 am the mass. There was also a program in the Paróquia Santo Inácio de Loyola, in the center around the Praça da Matriz, where hundreds of believers gathered. JG

Rua João Reinoldo Safran, near the wooden bridge on the border between the São Bento and Conventos districts of Lajeado, remains completely closed due to the widening works on the head parts of the new bridge. Over the next few days, the beams and concrete for the ironwork will be placed at the base of the structure and then the concrete for the new bridge will be poured. Traffic will only be opened after the concrete has completely dried out, but a date is not yet foreseeable. JG
Trump charged in federal investigation
Former US President Donald Trump said Thursday he has been charged as part of the federal investigation into his handling of confidential government documents at his home in MaraLago, Fla., after leaving office. According to The New York Times, he is the first former US President to face federal indictment. The criminal case filed by the US Department of Justice represents another legal setback for Trump, who is seeking to regain the country’s presidency in 2024. He is already facing criminal proceedings in New York, which are due to appear in court in March next year. Source: CNN
