Horses are often described as majestic animals and have a special aura. They fascinate and move at the same time. This is what happens when they enter a film set and are shown important scenes. Here are five films in which they shine with their presence.

Can an accident, no matter how terrible, stop a girl from dreaming? At least not Zoé, whose unwavering passion is being a jockey. And she found the ideal partner in Tempête, a filly from her parents who immediately caught her eye. She will develop a sincere and solid, even unshakable friendship with the animal. Because despite the lows the friends face, the highs will always be stronger. Quebecer Christian Duguay directed and co-wrote this drama with a French cast.

For this Disney production, Diane Lane delves into the world of horse racing. She lends her features to a woman who knows nothing of this male-dominated environment, but who agrees to make the necessary efforts to assert herself in order to help her seriously ill father, who cannot take care of his stables. Luckily, she has her sights set on a future star, a mount named Secretariat. Little does she know that the animal will propel her to the upper echelons of the competition with a series of spectacular victories.

The quality of this animated film allowed it to be screened at Cannes in 2002 and become a finalist at the Oscars the following year. Famous Canadian rocker Bryan Adams even recorded songs in French and English for the soundtrack. The adventure is that of a wild horse full of energy and ready to become the leader of a herd but is captured. However, the men who deprive him of his freedom do not know that the hope of taming Spirit is utopian… The stallion will fight to remain true to himself.

Fierro… the summer of secrets

This is not the most well-known Tales for All title. Maybe because there is no Quebec star in the cast of this Argentina-filmed production. The fact is that the work has secured a nice place in the film series and gives the images and characters time to breathe. The focus of the story is a fiery horse named Fierro, who is the object of desire of a teenager, but also of his friend. A production by André Melançon full of sensitivity.
