AEW
Behold the carnage.
AEW closed out this week’s episode of Rampage with a Texas Death Match brawl between Revolution rivals Hangman Page and Adam Cole. This was initially promoted as Cole’s last big shot at the AEW World Championship – if he couldn’t beat Hangman here, then he couldn’t beat him anywhere.
God knows what Tony Khan has in store for Page next. A line Cole barked during the game may be a clue (he yelled Hangman couldn’t lace up Kenny Omega’s boots), but that’s more of a fan guess than anything concrete. One thing is certain, though: Khan must seriously consider curtailing, or at least delaying, some of these bloody fights.
They’re fun, but fan burnout and overkill are a real problem. Yes, that’s a minor grumble, but a valid one considering All Elite loves “Wild West” style pros. Suppose they have to somehow close those three-month gaps between pay-per-views.
Here’s all the good and bad from a pre-Battle Of The Belts edition. There was blood, there was barbed wire, there were tables and there was… a distinctly WWE-esque match finish?
