5in1 Rocker Bassinet recalled; Company not cooperating – The Hill

(NewsNation) — Consumers who purchased 5-in-1 rocker bassinets are being warned to stop using the products because they pose a danger to young children, and the company responsible for distributing the product is not cooperating with one US Consumer Product Safety Commission recall.

The bassinets do not meet the safety requirements of the CPSC Infant Sleep Products Rule, which governs sleep products for infants up to 5 months old. The bassinet poses a risk of suffocation and a fall for small children.

The bassinets do not contain required markings, labels and instructions, nor do they contain a tracking label on the packaging that contains required information such as the date of manufacture.

The 51in1 Rocker Bgassinets were sold online at Walmart.com and other websites. They have green and gray color schemes and the packaging includes the words “Ya.Ya.Ya, 5IN1UPC Code 09331849600139, 01 Rock Sleeper, 02 Dream Centre, 03 Cozy Seat, 04 Travel Bassinet, 05 Rock & Play, Made in China, and Dude 1-36 months.”

Anyone who owns one of the bassinets should disassemble and dispose of it immediately. While the infant sleep products rule applies to products manufactured after June 23, 2022, CPSC continues to require companies to stop selling non-compliant products manufactured before that date.

The bassinets are imported by Rev Grace Import, Inc. of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and the CPSC said the company is not cooperating with the recall and has not offered remedies to those who purchased the bassinets.

CPSC also reminds parents to follow safe sleep practices for infants. Infants should sleep on firm, flat surfaces in a crib, crib, or play area, without blankets, pillows, padded crib bumpers, or stuffed animals other than a fitted sheet.

Small children should always be placed on their backs to sleep. If an infant falls asleep in a reclined or upright position, he or she should be placed in a safe sleep environment.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that parents sleep in the same room as their toddlers for the first six months, but they should not co-sleep or bed-share with toddlers.

Any product injuries or defects can be reported to the CPSC at www.SaferProducts.gov.
