(Gray News/TMX) – A family’s recent trip to Mexico nearly ended in death.
According to the Sauceda family, their six-year-old child fell about 12 meters from a zip line during their visit to an adventure park last week.
Video of the ordeal was shared by the boy’s brother, J Cesar Sauceda.
The little boy is seen sliding down the zipline accompanied by an adult. As they seem to be nearing the end, they stop and the boy suddenly falls.
Fortunately, the child survived the fall into a lake and could be rescued.
“I didn’t have time to first thank God for saving my brother from this apparent accident caused by the bad team, both the staff and the zipline,” Sauceda wrote alongside his shared video.
The boy reportedly fell after his harness snapped. Bystanders were able to bring him to safety after falling into the water.
“Thank you to all my friends who have been worried about my brother. Today my brother is at his school enjoying the day thank goodness,” Sauceda wrote.
The incident reportedly happened at Expedición Amazonia, an adventure park in Monterrey, Mexico.
“Poor service, poor installation, and most importantly, poor staff training,” Sauceda said. “I hope this is an experience that enhances the whole place.”
According to reports, the adventure park initially did not comment on the situation.
