Could this be a new version of the Christmas classic Home Alone? A sixyearold boy traveling alone was put on the wrong flight due to a US airline's mistake. Casper was scheduled to leave Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and arrive at his grandmother's house in Fort Myers, Florida. However, he ended up in Orlando, about four hours from his original destination.

The case occurred last Thursday (21). In an interview with WinkTV, the child's grandmother explained that this was the first time her grandson had been on a plane and was distressed to notice that he had not left with the other passengers on the flight. “They told me, ‘No, he’s not on this flight. He missed his flight. I said, 'No, he couldn't miss the flight because it's my checkin day,'” Maria Ramos recalls.

“I ran onto the plane to the flight attendant and asked her, 'Where is my grandson?' Was it delivered to you in Philadelphia? She said, 'No, I didn't have any children on that flight,'” he described. Shortly afterwards, the boy called her and told her that he had landed safely in the wrong city.

After not receiving an immediate response from Spirit Airlines, the grandmother still asked the airline a series of questions. “I want them to call me [e] Tell me how my grandson ended up in Orlando. How did that happen? Did they get him off the plane? Did the flight attendant let him fly alone after his mother gave him the paperwork? “Did he jump on the wrong plane by himself?” he asked.

Spirit later issued a statement on the case, but did not address how the error occurred. “The child was always under the care and supervision of a Spirit team member, and as soon as we discovered the error, we took immediate action to communicate with the family and reunite them. We take the safety and responsibility of transporting all of our passengers seriously and conduct an internal investigation. We apologize to the family for this experience,” the company said.
