8 year old boy drowns in the municipal swimming pool: the drama after lunch in front of his parents

An 8-year-old boy drowned in the Casetas municipal swimming pool. The drama this Sunday around 2:30 p.m. in Zaragoza, sources in the Spanish community confirm. The baby, who belonged to a family of Pakistani descent living in Casetas, was seen lying on the water when he was pulled out by first aid staff. Casetas Health Center staff, members of 061 and the Guardia Civil went to the pool to continue the resuscitation efforts initiated by the lifeguards. The local police were also there.

The drama in the pool

Some eyewitnesses to the event estimate that resuscitation took more than an hour without saving the child’s life.

Casetas unit health workers received the notification at 2:29 p.m. and the doctor on duty and nurse quickly went to the swimming pool where they first aided the minor. The little one showed no signs of life at the time and rescuers performed CPR, which doctors continued on arrival, as well as other procedures. Two teams from 061 later joined this operation, with a primary care ambulance from Utebo and a mobile intensive care unit from Zaragoza.

Useless tools for the child

According to the staff who tried to revive him, there is every indication that, given the timing and circumstances of the event, it could be a case of fatal indigestion. The minor’s corpse was transferred to the Forensic Anatomical Institute, where an autopsy will be performed.
