Electricité De France announced this Thursday, November 24, 2022, early in the afternoon on social networks “an incident at the source station in the town of Lamentin, which is currently cutting power to 80,000 subscribers”.
Located in the Petit-Morne district, this substation supplies the grids of the municipalities in central Martinique and in the south and part of the north of the island.

The duration of this intervention is not estimated, but the operator says they apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Also, during this repair (still in progress), a subcontractor was injured.
In fact, an employee of a service provider was injured. He was treated by firefighters and evacuated to Martinique University Hospital while he was conscious. But at this time, the causes of the incident are not known. It will of course require an investigation by both us and the police, who were on the scene immediately and set up a security perimeter.
