Our Living Islands is also accompanied by an action plan Period 2023-2026 which includes 80 shares with clear deadlines that are implemented by various stakeholders under the leadership of a specific government department or state agency.
Some of the specific actions are:
- Providing additional island-specific financial support under the Contribution to the Rehabilitation of Vacant Properties (Croí Cónaithe) to encourage the use of existing properties for the provision of long-term housing;
- Providing high-speed broadband to Broadband Connection Points (BCPs), digital hubs and schools on the islands under the National Broadband Plan (NBP);
- promote remote working from the islands and provide greater access to education and training courses;
- Implementing iPod eHealth on the islands and utilizing BCPs and remote work centers to increase access to online health appointments;
- Ensure that the views of island communities are heard by establishing and supporting a forum for ongoing dialogue between island communities, local authorities and stakeholders.

To qualify, you must own (or come into possession of) a property on one of the islands that was built before 1993 and has been tenant-free for at least two years.
