More than 200 computer attacks have targeted public institutions in Ukraine. Microsoft shares this worrying observation in its latest report published on Wednesday.
This is another aspect of war. Less brutal, less violent, but of equally primal importance: the cyber attacks. It’s not just land attacks anymore, it’s also digital attacks that Russia is delivering. Since the start of the Russian invasion, “destructive and incessant cyberattacks” on Ukraine have multiplied, they say a Microsoft report, unveiled Wednesday April 27. That specifies the Windows-based company more than 200 attacks were continued by groups linked to the Russian state.
This hybrid war waged by Russian hackers reveals a wide range of techniques being used. This ranges from phishing to phishing to exploiting unresolved security gaps according to information from BFM TV.

Ukrainian institutions directly targeted
Corresponding tom burtMicrosoft’s vice president for customer security, said the attacks “not only damaged institutional systems in Ukraine, but also aimed to disrupt people’s access to reliable information and vital services from the government”. Microsoft also notes that the temporality of the Attacks “strongly correlated with the Russian army’s ground operations and sometimes seem to have stalled directly”.
Also according to Microsoft, preparations for these attacks date back to March 2021 and were intensified in early 2022 when Russia massed its troops at the borders.
