The Perseverance parachute would have been deployed at an altitude of 2.1 km, the American space station says.

These photos show the parachute and rear hull of the spacecraft that landed on Mars on February 18, 2021.

The helicopter that flew over the debris on April 19 took 10 photos from different angles, NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) said.

The Mars helicopter flew 8 meters above the ground, NASA says.

The JPL concludes that both landing gears have served their purpose and claims that the tools used to land the Perseverance on Mars have held up well despite the stresses the vehicle has endured.

Thanks to these visualizations, NASA can see the usefulness of the components to allow other robots to land safely on the red planet.

The European Space Agency research team is working with the American station to develop the tools needed for a possible return to Earth of soil samples taken by Perserance on Mars.
