With panache and taste, Bobby Carcassés announces a concert in Cuba

In the show, which is scheduled for 9pm local time and forms part of the Jazz Plaza International Festival, the Cuban showman will welcome British saxophonist George Haslam and Canadian singer-songwriter John Finley to the stage.

At the 2012 National Music Awards recital, Cuban instrumentalist Belinda Guerra with B’Jazz and singer Isaac Delgado and his orchestra will also be among the favorites of popular dance music on the Caribbean island.

The 38th edition of the event lasts until January 29th with more than 100 concerts on almost 20 stages, squares and parks in this capital and in Santiago de Cuba.

In addition to the Cuban artists, musicians from Argentina, Brazil, Cameroon, Spain, France, Congo, Mexico, Italy, Germany, Portugal, Peru, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Norway, the United Kingdom, South Africa and the United States are participating , with the greater representativeness.

The event will commemorate the 85th anniversary of the death of percussionist Chano Pozo and celebrate the upcoming 85th birthday of Carcassés, founder of the Jazz Plaza Festival.

The 65th birthday of Hernán López-Nussa, one of the Antilles nation’s pre-eminent pianists on the international stage; the 65th birthday of trumpeter José Miguel Crego (El Greco); and the 45 of established the Center for Research and Development of Cuban Music.
