Two stores on two parallel streets were simultaneously attacked by Molotov cocktails in downtown Montreal on Tuesday morning.
The Montreal Fire Department asked police for assistance over a fire that broke out around 5am at the Andrews Pub bar on Guy Street.

Barely 10 minutes later, another licensed facility near Mackay Street, also near Sainte-Catherine Street West, mobilized the firefighters dispatched to put out the blaze.

In both cases, firefighters found acceleration marks in the two buildings whose windows had been smashed, according to a spokesman for the Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).
The flames were quickly brought under control by SIM firefighters, who turned the investigation over to the SPVM Arson Division. The latter should send their investigators on site in the course of the morning.
The damage done to the first operation is minor but more important to the second operation, said SPVM agent Julien Lévesque, indicating no one was hurt and no arrests were made on file.
