QUITO, April 28 (RHC) Ecuador’s National Secretary for Human Rights, Bernarda Ordóñez, announced this Thursday that she is irrevocably resigning from her post due to differences with the government.
“This decision is motivated by the new vision proposed by the national government, which is far from the original goal of building a land of opportunities and meeting for rights,” he assured in his resignation letter, published on social networks.
Ordóñez, who has been in office since President Guillermo Lasso’s executive branch began on May 24, added what happened on March 8 (when women protesters were attacked), the management of the prison crisis and the silence before the reprehensible acts of Violence, especially against girls, boys and women dissolves their feelings.
As he pointed out, this year was one of the most challenging ones, but the work continued from the Human Rights Secretariat.
He also warned that in the first month of the facility’s management, the coordination was carried out to implement the vaccination plan in the intangible zone with a scope of 110 Waoranies.
He also stressed that they managed to position Ecuador along with 62 countries in the world with a public policy for the LGBTI population.
