Who Needs a Dentist? New York Islander Brock Nelson rips out his TOOTH while on the bench and hands it over to a trainer after being hit by a wayward stick… and then he immediately returns to the ice!
New York Islanders center Brock Nelson pulled a tooth out on the bench during Tuesday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs after being hit in the face with a stick.
Nelson fell to the ice before lying still, clutching his face for a moment. After he made his way to the bank, cameras panned to him as he noticed his tooth was barely hanging.
He then used his bare hands to pull the tooth right out of his mouth and gave it to an islander worker.

His tooth was knocked loose when he hit the face with a wayward stick during a fight with a Leafs opponent.
Nelson decided to take matters into his own hands by ripping his tooth out before immediately jumping back into action.
Nelson’s fine play on the ice this season has earned him All-Star recognition despite the Islanders’ uneven season.

In 49 games played this season, Nelson has recorded 17 goals and 25 assists for a total of 42 points.
Despite his strong season, the Islanders currently have secured a 23-21-5 record for just 51 points.
Nelson’s bizarre amateur dentistry moment was all for naught in the end as the Islanders were defeated 5-2 by Toronto to cement another poor result for an Islanders team currently set to miss the playoffs.
“Our detail and awareness has cost us,” said Islanders coach Lane Lambert. “We just really need to get this over with and clean it up.”
The Islanders’ next matchup will be against the Ottawa Senators.
