Developers use ChatGPT’s success to deploy artificial intelligence everywhere. Witness, Designer.bot, an AI that can create an A-Z PowerPoint presentation from a simple text description. Bluff, really?
With the success of ChatGPT, the conversational artificial intelligence that has been sweeping the internet for a few months, everyone is riding the wave of generative AIs. The DALL-E image generator, RestorePhotos.io for blurring photos, the online AI directory SaaS AI Tools, Character.AI for chatting with personalities… Even Microsoft is planning to bring OpenAI’s new technology into its office suite Microsoft 365 and in its search engine Bing! Beautiful.ai, a platform that allows you to create presentations without going through PowerPoint and benefiting from many templates, is its turn to present its new AI-based tool: the DesignerBot. The principle is the same as with ChatGPT: just write your request, e.g. B. “Draft a marketing plan for cloud gaming” and then let the AI ”think” so it offers us 10 to 20 beautifully designed slides on a page, illustrations and text, all via a paid subscription. But is the result worth it?
Designer.bot: Good for starters, but not enough
According to the press release, Designer.bot is responsible for creating “texts, layouts, photos, icons and corresponding design” precisely on the basis of ChatGPT and DALL-E. As a result, the illustrations come from a simple description and are all unique. Of course, the user can enhance the rendering of the presentation by providing as much detail as possible, such as context or accurate information. Slides can be easily imported or exported to various presentation formats such as PowerPoint, Google Slides, and PDF. Of course, the Internet user can make changes himself afterwards. And fortunately, because even if the tool is still in the beta phase, the result is far from perfect! The AI writes banalities and the images are not always relevant…
Beautiful.ai’s goal is clearly not to replace someone’s creativity or production, but rather to eliminate the fear of the blank page and provide a starting point and inspiration. Starting from a blank canvas and figuring out how to visualize yours Creating history as a series of compelling slides has always been the biggest challenge with traditional presentation software—especially for people without design skills,” said Mitch Grasso, Founder and Director of Beautiful.ai. “By adding DesignerBot, we can not only offer users an amazing slide design experience, but also help them create both a story arc and the actual content of each slide.” Bottom line: Don’t expect to let the AI do all the work, on the contrary.
Note, however, that in order to use the platform’s new tool, you’ll need to subscribe to the Pro plan, which still costs $12 a month. For those who still want to try it, there’s a 14-day trial period – but don’t forget to cancel or risk a fee.
