According to information from Kyiv, Russia fired 55 rockets in another heavy attack on Ukraine today. Of these, 85 percent were intercepted, Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Saluschnyi said on Telegram. The Russian army also used two hypersonic missiles of the Kinzhal type (German: Dolch), which cannot be intercepted by anti-aircraft defense.
According to Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko, several objects of the energy infrastructure were hit, which is why the electricity went out. The situation is particularly difficult in Kyiv, Vinnytsia and Odessa regions. The Russian war of aggression against Ukraine has been going on for more than eleven months. Since October, the Russian military has aimed to supply energy with rockets and drones.
Zelenskyi renews fighter jet order
Soon after the decision to supply main battle tanks was made, Ukraine’s supporters were faced with new demands for weapons. As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said yesterday in his evening video address, progress is now needed on other military issues as well – specifically, his country needs more artillery, long-range missiles and fighter aircraft.
