Taylor Swift’s self-written and directed music video for Lavender Haze — the opener to her hit album Midnights — is finally here! In the graphic, the Grammy winner, 33, is sporting a range of chic and comfortable looks (including an oversized tee worn as a dress and a ’70s knit top from one of her recent TikTok videos) but her white , lace embellished dress mini slip dress has got to be our ultimate favorite.

Taylor Swift shows off her sculpted legs and ’70s-inspired style in a lace mini and faux fur coat
The sultry, sleeveless piece features white floral lace at the neckline and cut-outs in the silky fabric along the thigh-length hem. On top of that, the ‘Bejeweled’ hitmaker added a light purple fur coat from Free People, specifically the brand’s ‘Renata Faux Fur Coat’, which fans have also spotted of her on a previous TikTok!
The “Anti-Hero” singer’s dress helped show off her long, toned legs and is the latest ’70s-inspired ensemble she’s rocked. Swift stayed on topic when it came to her hair look for the video, worn down, styled into loose beachy waves and shag-like with the help of her bangs. As for her makeup, the songwriter stunned with glittery shimmery eye shadows, thick black eyeliner, voluminous lashes and a glossy pink lip to top it all off.
In the video, Swift can be seen lying in bed in an oversized t-shirt, spotting a smoky matching lavender veil and other dreamy elements, dancing and also rocking the knitted top Swifties spotted in one of her 2022 TikToks when she has promoted her tenth studio album.
All about Swift’s romantic track inspired by Joe Alwyn
Regarding the lyrical and thematic inspiration for “Lavender Haze” (which fans are sure is Swift’s longtime love, Joe Alwyn), Swift said in a video post last fall, “I just happened to come across the phrase ‘Lavender Haze’ came across when I saw Mad Men, and I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool.” Swift continued, telling fans in the clip, “And it turns out it’s a common phrase, used in the 50’s where they would just describe being in love.”
The story goes on
The “Lover” crooner continued, “When you were in the lavender haze it meant you were in this all-encompassing love glow and I thought that was really beautiful. I think a lot of people are having to deal with that now, not just like “public figures” because we live in the age of social media and when the world finds out that you’re in love with someone, they’re going to weigh it away.”
While Swift didn’t mention Alwyn (who she has been dating since 2016) by name, the musician said that in their current relationship, she and her partner have had to keep their heads up as they face public scrutiny. “Like my six-year relationship, we’ve had to dodge weird rumors and tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it,” Swift said. “So this song is about ignoring this stuff to protect the real stuff.”
