“The explosion occurred at one of the Defense Ministry’s ammunition manufacturing centers and as announced by the Isfahan Deputy Governor for Security, there were no casualties,” the IRIB chain reported.
The official statement added: “There were no casualties in this failed attack and minor damage was caused to the roof of the workshop which, by the grace of God, caused no disruption to the complex’s equipment and duties.”
Official Mohammad Reza Jannesar later told state television: “The damage, causes and elements that caused this explosion are being investigated and will be announced later.”
In recent years, several explosions and fires have occurred near Iranian military, nuclear and industrial facilities.
