Elvis star Austin Butler is a heartthrob at the AARP Movies for Grownups ceremony in LA

Elvis star Austin Butler conjured up feelings of classic Hollywood at AARP The Magazine’s 21st Annual Movies for Grownups Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The 31-year-old actor cemented his heartthrob status in a smart black satin suit over a tie-free white button-down shirt.

The Oscar nominee strolled down the star-studded red carpet in black patent leather shoes.

He was joined by director Baz Luhrmann, who directed Austin in the 2022 biopic about The King, to snap several photos before the ceremony.

The acclaimed director wore a sleek black tuxedo and his silver hair was impeccably coiffed for the film-centric event.

Elvis was nominated for several awards at this year’s AARP event, including Best Picture/Best Adult Picture.

Baz Luhrmann’s direction may have helped Butler earn his first-ever Oscar nomination.

At this year’s Academy Awards, which will take place on March 12 in Los Angeles, he competed for the award for best actor.

The Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star has previously won the Golden Globe for Best Performance in a Motion Picture – Drama, despite losing a Critics’ Choice Award to The Whale’s Brendan Fraser.

Butler faces some tough Oscar contenders, including Fraser, Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin), Paul Mescal (Aftersun) and Bill Nighy (Living).

Though Butler may win an Oscar for his performance as the King of Rock and Roll, it’s an accomplishment that won’t be celebrated with Elvis’ only daughter Lisa Marie Presley, who passed away suddenly earlier this month.

Lisa Marie proudly accompanied Butler on the film’s promotional tour and even witnessed his Golden Globe win.

But she would tragically die just days after the ceremony.

She died Thursday, January 12, at the age of 54, hours after suffering cardiac arrest at her home in Calabasas, California.

She was rushed to hospital in critical condition and was said to have been in a coma after going into “complete cardiac arrest” shortly after complaining of abdominal pain, according to TMZ.

Priscilla, who was by her daughter’s side, said in a statement: “It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.”

Lisa Marie is survived by three daughters, 33-year-old Riley and 14-year-old twins Harper and Finley.

Butler called out to Presley in his Golden Globe speech, “Thank you guys, thank you for opening your hearts, your memories and your homes to me. Lisa-Marie, Priscilla [Presley]I love you forever.’
