The mom fills one side of her bucket with hot water, then adds vinegar, dish soap, and essential oil. She recommended wiping in the same direction as the wood grain
In a two-compartment bucket, the mother fills one side with hot water, then adds a cup of vinegar, a teaspoon of dish soap, and 20 drops of citrus essential oil.
Using vinegar and dish soap will kill any germs, while essential oils add a pleasant-smelling scent.
Carolina soaks her mop in the mixture and recommends wiping in the same direction as the wood grain.
She also suggested investing in a quality bucket with two separate compartments to clean the mop on one side before dunking it in the other to keep the water clean.

This isn’t the first time the cleaning and organization guru has impressed with her useful tips and advice for keeping the home looking spotless.
Previously, Carolina revealed the three filters that few people remember to clean — and most people don’t even know one.
She said filters on appliances like dishwashers, washing machines and ovens are often overlooked.
The mother-of-two said some should be cleaned as often as once a week to prevent dangerous bacteria from building up.
Her followers were particularly appreciative of her washing machine filter cleaning advice, which many admitted they didn’t even know existed.
The mother said filters on appliances like dishwashers, washing machines and ovens are often overlooked. Some of the equipment should be cleaned once a week to prevent a build-up of dirt and harmful bacteria
“Who cleaned their filters? I know some of you have skipped a few, don’t lie,” the mom asked on TikTok.
The washing machine filter is the most often forgotten, although it should be emptied and cleaned every three months.
The filter is generally located behind a door on the underside of the machine and a pipe must be unhooked to allow accumulated water to drain.
“It’s a bit awkward, especially if you’ve never done it before,” admitted Carolina.
How to clean three forgotten filters in your home:
- Washing Machine Filter – This filter is generally located behind a door at the bottom of the machine and needs to be emptied and cleaned every three months
- Dishwasher filters – these should be soaked with dishwasher tabs once a week as they attract a lot of bacteria
- Extractor hood filters – these should also be soaked with dishwasher tabs

She also reminded her followers to clean their dishwasher filters regularly.
The mother said these should be soaked with dishwasher tabs once a week as they attract a lot of bacteria.
The final filters in need of a thorough cleaning are range hood filters, which Carolina says quickly become covered in a buildup of “nasty grease.”
They should be degreased the same way dishwasher filters are cleaned by soaking them with dishwasher tabs.
Carolina’s followers were especially grateful for her washing machine filter tip, some didn’t know the filter existed.
“After seeing this, I literally flew for my washing machine. It was disgusting,” said one woman.
“Thanks to you, I found and cleaned the drain of the washing machine. I was wondering why the spin dryer didn’t seem to be working quite as well, plus the slight musty smell that had started in the laundry room,” commented another.
