Earlier this month, Jessica announced she was fired from starring on The Masked Singer after producers heard her “shocking” singing voice.
On her podcast, The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show, she opened up about the awkward moment producers withdrew their offer after hearing her audition tape.
The former Studio 10 host explained that she had turned down several reality show offers in the past, including SAS Australia, but jumped at the chance to appear on The Masked Singer because she had always wanted to sing.
Jessica’s management told the show’s producers that she couldn’t hold a tune, but was interested in it nonetheless.
The mother-of-two promised that her book’s recipes are “quick, full of shortcuts, packets, and lots of fun.”
“Everybody says that, everybody can sing,” a producer replied to Jessica’s manager.
“She’s not just polite. I heard her – she can’t sing,” the manager replied.
After hearing her “shocking” take on a Pink song, producers immediately changed their minds about having the star on their next season.
“It’s no surprise that The Masked Singer said, ‘Thanks, but no, thanks.’ And that’s enough for me,” laughed Jess.
