Arrests of illegal immigrants entering Vermont along the border with Canada have more than doubled in just over three months compared to the past two years, a Customs and Border Protection official said.
“In less than four months, Swanton sector fears have surpassed the COMBINED two previous years (FY 2021-2022),” Robert Garcia, Chief Patrol Agent for the Swanton Sector of the Border Patrol, tweeted last week.
He continued, “In the face of adversity, our #BorderPatrol agents remain steadfast in their presentation of our ideals: vigilance, integrity and service to the country. #HonorFirst.”
Swanton Sector also includes some New York and New Hampshire counties.
