Played by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, The Last of Us, by HBO Max and inspired by a Naughty Dog game, is a huge hit. The series began streaming on January 15. Recently, however, Ramsey opened up about the future of the storyline, which left fans quite concerned.
The plot
The narrative of the story takes place in a postapocalyptic world where a large part of humanity has been killed by a powerful fungus that can infect anyone. Joel (Pascal) is one of the main characters, a smuggler who has already served his country.
But now, amidst the chaos, he has been tasked with taking Ellie (Ramsey), a 14yearold girl, to a safer place where there are doctors who will develop a healing project for whatever is happening. The reason Ellie is so important is because she has the cure.
So far the production has been very faithful to the game and has developed the project to the best of its ability, especially considering the relationship between Ellie and Joel. Episodes are available weekly on HBO Max.
Will The Last of Us get a second season?
While attending an interview with the BBC, actress Bella Ramsey was asked about the future of the series. However, according to you, we’ll have to wait a little longer to see what the final results will be.
“If people keep watching, I think [uma segunda temporada] it is very likely. It’s up to the guys at HBO. Nothing is confirmed yet, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
However, if we take into account the success that the series is achieving, we will be able to get a concrete and official answer within a few days.
The premiere of The Last of Us was one of the most memorable to date. So it is only behind “The House of the Dragon”, a series derived from “Game of Thrones”. Both are original productions of HBO Max and have achieved great success in Latin America.
Also, as far as we know, the first nine episodes will feature the story of the franchise’s first game. So if there’s a renewal which there likely will be there’s a lot of content to explore.
Some are speculating that if there is an adaptation of The Last of Us II, it will take more than a full season to digest the events of the second game. And the game’s creator has already stated that he will not focus on any context outside of the game.
