Keep in mind Rogers is trying to get his hands on Shaw for $26 billion. The plan also calls for the sale of Freedom Mobile, a wireless operator in western Canada, to Quebecor.

On Jan. 24, the Competition Court denied a motion by the Competition Authority that opposed the companies’ proposals to go ahead with the merger.

However, the transaction still has to be approved by the Minister for Innovation, Science and Industry, François-Philippe Champagne.
