Coronation Street fans were once again shocked by Hope Dobbs’ behavior during Monday night’s episode of the soap – she was branded an ‘evil bully’.

The schoolgirl, played by Isabella Flanagan, was spotted blaming Beth and Kirk Sunderland’s dog Peanut for biting her when she came home with a bloody bite mark.

But the injury was actually caused by Hope herself to trick the dog as she believes he was the one who killed her chinchilla named Cilla and wants revenge.

Hope was devastated last week when Cilla died and suspecting it may have been Peanut’s fault, vowing to get the pup back.

After suspecting the dog was responsible for her pet’s death, Hope decided to give Peanut her own back and came up with a plan during Monday’s episode.

With a stuffed ferret, Hope left a bloody bite mark on her own arm — before heading to the park where Beth (Lisa George) was walking Peanut.

The teenager then knelt down to the dog as Beth turned away, gasping and claiming Peanut bit her as she held up the tagged arm.

Hope returned home to deliver the made-up story to mom Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) and stepdad Tyrone (Alan David Halsall).

The concerned parents comforted their daughter as she claimed to have been injured by the dog before taking her for a tetanus shot.

Later, Beth and Kirk (Andy Whyment) came by and tried to convince Fiz and Tyrone of the truth as they claimed Peanut didn’t bite the boy.

But Fiz stood by her daughter and reported the dog’s actions to the police as she was concerned for the safety of others.

And fans were quick to take to Twitter as they debated the moment, branding hope for their lies as “evil.”

One even compared Hope to her killer father, John Stape (Graeme Hawley), writing, “Hope turns out to be just as evil as her father. Wouldn’t be surprised if she was part of a murder story in a few years. I don’t think the dog did anything to Cilla.”

“Hope is a wicked little witch,” added another.

While a third wrote: “No Fiz Hope ain’t sweetheart she mean”.

And looking for the other member of this feud, one user posted: “Justice for Peanut”.

Last week, viewers worried about Peanut’s fate after Hope vowed to get revenge on the dog, saying: “Your death will not be in vain furry friend, you will get your revenge.”

Following the dramatic episode, Corrie fans took to Twitter to share their fears for Peanut, urging the dog to “run” as they speculated his death could be imminent.
