Crazy moment: A shark ‘pounces’ on an 8-year-old boy who is climbing back on board a boat with a coral trout on the Great Barrier Reef

  • Shark lunges at boy climbing on boat after spearfishing
  • Predator tried to get the killed fishboy
  • Boy is later shown unharmed from the close encounter

A boy got frighteningly close to a shark while getting back on a boat after spearfishing.

In a viral TikTok video, a man filming asks boy Manny what he brought from the ocean.

Manny, holding onto a ladder at the stern of the boat, hoists a large fish onto the diving platform and begins to say something about a shark.

Then the shark suddenly appears and lunges to get the fish out of Manny’s hands, but eventually snaps into the air, banging its head against the boy.

According to the creator of the video, Manny emerged from the close encounter unharmed.

However, not everyone was convinced the video was legitimate.

“Looks like the shark is dead and someone is pushing it onto the kid,” wrote one skeptic in a comment.

A continuation of the video shows Manny demonstrating a fish that he speared, although it looks different than the one he previously threw onto the boat.

If he had any ill effects from the shark encounter, Manny certainly isn’t showing them while pulling up a big fish with a big grin.

However, the video maker is not particularly impressed.

‘That’s crap, the hea*t fish in the ocean, why did you even shoot it?’ asks the man.

“Because it kept swimming towards me, it wouldn’t stop, it was stupid, just stupid to keep swimming towards me like, ‘Come on, shoot me,’ so I just shot it,” Manny replies.

“You’re going to eat it yourself,” says the filmmaker.

In comments, he later revealed that the milkfish was given to a local.
