Does Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais have a home at home? We never asked him the question. But one thing’s for sure, his mantelpiece (real or metaphorical) will soon be short of space, which he may be able to fill thanks to his comedy act, show comedy and writer/comedy show nominations of the year.
The King of the Marshes is also one of five names in the running for Olive Tree of the Year. At his side: Sam Breton, Mathieu Dufour, Christine Morency and Arnaud Soly.

It’s also Soly who comes closest to him with three mentions if we include the one that wins Club Soly in the Comedy TV Show of the Year category.
David Beaucage, Sam Breton, Korine Côté, Simon Gouache, Guillaume Pineault and Odrée Rousseau all feature twice in the lucky callers list, as does Thomas Levac, who like Def Leppard will be up against him at the time of the clip’s Combat – even in Unscripted Humorous Podcast of the Year category (for Open Couple, which he co-hosts with his girlfriend Stéphanie Vandelac, and Two Princes, which he co-hosts with his friend Philippe-Audrey Larrue-St-Jacques).
In the chapter on absurdities: how not to lose a word of the Church by noting the absence of Adib Alkhalidey in the Quebecers Tabarnack Show of the Year category? Luckily she’s on the writer/comedy show of the year.
After an edition canceled in 2020 and two editions in 2021 and 2022 in which the categories for the stage were eliminated, the Les Olivier Gala will resume on April 19 with its traditional formula on the airwaves of ICI Télé. Twelve statuettes bearing the likeness of Mr Guimond will be awarded in the Pierre Mercure room in the evening – eight more were distributed in the afternoon during an event hosted by Neev.

Katherine Levac
Hosted by François Bellefeuille in a strange context during the pandemic, this time the ceremony will be hosted by Katherine Levac. She is only the third woman to take on this mission, after Lise Dion (host of the first two editions in 1999 and 2000) and Claudine Mercier (co-host of the third edition).
