The former People’s Sexiest Man Alive told the outlet that people often expect his “secret” to be related to a restrictive diet or an intense, top-secret exercise regimen.

“People ask me, ‘Can you send me your meal plan? How many times a week do you train? do you drink Do you eat carbohydrates? Having a cheat day?” Rudd recalled.

Though he’s committed to daily cardio and at least three days of weight lifting, Rudd believes the “most important part of training is sleep.

“People will set their alarms and then sleep for four hours and get up to train. You’re doing yourself a disservice. If you somehow manage to get eight hours of sleep. . .’ he explained.

Rudd later gave the outlet a glimpse of his daily routine, which begins with coffee and cardio on an empty stomach — something he said he “never would have done” before signing on to star Marvel superhero Ant- to play one.

He continued, “I lift weights, hopefully at least three times a week.”

Rudd entered the Marvel Universe in 2015 and has appeared as Ant-Man in a 2018 sequel and the upcoming film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

Through his years of superhero training, Rudd has “learned so much about how my body responds to food, how it responds to exercise, and where I’m happiest and how it affects me mentally.

“When I’m there [superhero] Suit up, run around and play a character meant to be a superhero, just makes me feel better. And I feel less like an imposter.”

Rudd’s diet is simple and consistent. He told Men’s Health that he eats eggs daily, incorporates salmon into most meals, and likes his protein shakes with just a mix of protein powder and water.

“It sounds like hell. It really isn’t. I find routine calming,” he insisted. “There is no office that we have to go to every day where we see the same people doing the same type of work.

“Routine is a human need. It’s grounding in a really positive and healthy way.”

Rudd has been busy promoting Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, which is slated to hit theaters on February 17.

And he shared that he “worked really hard to get back in shape” for the highly anticipated Marvel film, and that it ended up being “so much harder” than it was for the 2018 sequel.

“I had fallen off more often than in the past. Suddenly my clothes are tight. And I was like, God, this sucks. I can’t even wear those pants,” he recalled.

“So I’d say to myself, well, I might as well just eat some of these cookies. I was irritable and insecure. I just wasn’t in a good mood. I really got ready.’

Earlier this month, Rudd showed off his chiseled look in a swirling image reminiscent of the quantum realm he and his friends and family will explore in the new film.
