Ukraine: Investigations into thousands of alleged war crimes cases

A five-digit number of suspected war crimes cases are being investigated by Ukraine in cooperation with international investigators, according to Ukraine’s attorney general. There are about 8,600 cases.

In addition, there are more than 4,000 other cases related to war crimes in the context of the Russian war of aggression, Iryna Venediktova told DW on Thursday. She expects the numbers to keep rising.

Ukrainian Prosecutor General: use all possibilities

The crimes investigated include the murder of civilians, bombing of civilian infrastructure, torture, sexual crimes and the use of prohibited weapons. It will use all possibilities of international justice to bring perpetrators to justice.
