The linchpin of the Big Apple club could become a free agent in the coming weeks. The 25-year-old athlete just finished his best season in the NFL after his fourth year with the NFL. In 16 games, Jones completed 67.2% of his passes for 3,205 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also mustered 708 yards and seven majors with his legs.

The sixth overall pick in the 2019 draft helped his club to a 9-7-1 and made the playoffs for the first time since the 2016 season. The Giants won their first one-night patch-off by defeating the Minnesota Vikings before lowering the flag to the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I was so proud of Daniel, the way he played and his ability to learn a new offensive system,” Manning told ESPN. It was amazing to see him play in the fourth quarter of multiple games and allow his team to win. That’s what you want to see in a quarterback.”

“I hope he gets rewarded for that,” added the man who won two Super Bowls as a pivot for the Giants. I hope he’s going to be the Giants quarterback for a very long time.”

The New York organization will have another big file to handle soon. Alongside Jones, running back Saquon Barkley could also become a free agent. The Giants can maintain either man’s services by using his franchise player tag.

In 2023, this unique NFL trial could net Jones $32.4 million. As for Barkley, if he receives and accepts the tag, he would be paid $10.1 million.
