AND’ Manchester the first official album by will and will be available in physical and digital formats beginning Friday, February 10th. The young artist, who in recent years has managed to carve out a place for himself on the Italian contemporary music scene with consistency and determination, takes part in the competition Feast of Sanremo with the song Stupid and prepares to take the Ariston’s coveted stage for the first time among the great names of Italian song. Manchester, released on the Capitol Records label (Univesal Music Italy), is presented to the public through an in-store tour that will start on Saturday February 11th in Sanremo and then continue in the main Italian cities.
Will, also known as William Busetti, is one of the most original, fresh and charismatic creators of the new contemporary urban pop scene, a true icon who, at just over 20 years old, has made a name for himself through the power of his music and words alone. Will’s world is one steeped in authentic truth, a genuine dimension capable of telling the reality of small things with disarming spontaneity, revealing that crystalline soul of everyday life that only a songwriter can capture. A highly versatile young artist who is able to move fluently between different genres and styles while maintaining his uniqueness. Through musical research, never predictable and predictable, Will’s sound, style and lyrics are now absolutely recognizable on the Italian scene.
“Manchester – explains Will – is the fruit of the last three years of work – on this, my first album, I present myself as who I really am, without filters or constructions. It’s just me with my music and the desire to express my personality. An album that represents my journey well and makes me discover sides of myself that I didn’t know until I defined my true musical identity, an album that somehow traces my last years since I started writing the first lyrics until towards Sanremo. Manchester tells about me what I was in previously released songs and what I am in unreleased songs. Manchester – the young artist continues – is certainly a tribute to my origins. Part of my family is from Manchester, I’ve always breathed this Anglo-Saxon culture, it’s also part of me and my way of living and understanding music, especially in British pop influences and sounds. I am fortunate to have this double soul as I grew up around a lot of music, from Brit Pop which my English mother passed down to me to Italian songwriting which my father taught me. I hope audiences can identify with Manchester’s songs and get excited. It’s my first official album and it reflects me in all my essence. I really hope that the sincerity of this project, which is particularly close to my heart, will come.”
Manchester, which will be available in CD and LP format as well as an exclusively signed version on the Universal Music Store, consists of 16 tracks and also includes hits like “Estate”, already certified platinum, “Anno Luce”, “Domani che fai ?” “Masterpiece”, “Who I really am”, “Stronger than I”, which together have reached more than 100 million streams. Also on the album “Le cose piùimportant”, a song from Sanremo Giovani” and “Stupido”, a song in competition of February 7 at the Sanremo Festival 2023.
