The author of the winning goal in the closing minutes of Tuesday’s game, Brady Tkachuk, also did not hide his satisfaction after beating CH 5-4 at the Bell Centre. The reaction of the captain of the “Sens”, who mocked the crowd after the tie-break, showed it well.
“It’s always nice to beat them,” Tkachuk told TSN, reporting from the Ottawa Sun. It was one of those strange games but we found a way to win and I think that says a lot about our team.”
The Senators go into the All-Star Game break with four straight wins after finishing best against the Montreal team last Saturday with a 5-0 win at the Canadian Tire Center.
Also, Tim Stützle, one of Ontario’s best on Tuesday with four points, including two goals, said he was proud of his team’s performance over the past few weeks.
“It’s a lot of fun to play now. We all know Brady loves getting some middle fingers from fans. It was fantastic. Four wins before the break means we can go into the break positive and content,” he said.
The Sens take on the Edmonton Oilers at home on February 11th. Until then, Brady Tkachuk will represent his team at this weekend’s All-Star Game in Sunrise, playing alongside his Panthers color bear brother Matthew.
